Structural and Synthetic Biology

We employ structural and synthetic biology approaches to understand microbes. The molecules that we work on are involved in inter-cell communication, transcriptional regulation and mediate phenotypic switching. These studies involve a combination of molecular biology techniques, biophysical and biochemical analysis and crystallography/imaging and computational biology.

Research Topics

Phenotypic switching in Staphylococcus aureus, Transcription-translation coupling in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Synthetic microbiology tools and applications.

Subject areas

Molecular Microbiology, Structural Biology, Synthetic Biology.
